Eddie Howe sighted as Celtic next manager target makes live punditry appearance

He's not been spied in Glasgow quite yet but Eddie Howe was on the punditry circuit on Sunday.

The 43-year-old is hot favourite to become the next Celtic boss having held talks with the Parkhead club last week.

It's understood Howe knocked back the chance to take over at Sheffield United and another unnamed Premier League side with a manager still in place as he held out for an offer from the fallen champions.

Howe is right in the mix to succeed Neil Lennon but his TV appearance this weekend suggests an announcement isn't quite imminent just yet.

He was drafted in to provide analysis for English top flight clashes, appearing on various channels for Aston Villa vs Fulham and Manchester United vs Brighton.

Unfortunately for Celtic fans, Howe remained strictly on-topic throughout with no mention of whether he's about to sign up for a stint in Scottish football.

Howe has been out of work since leaving Bournemouth in August 2020, having steered the Cherries away from the depths of League Two and near extinction, all the way to the Premier League.
