Eddie Howe has been appointed Newcastle United's new manager ahead of their clash against Arsenal later this month.
The Magpies have endured a torrid start to the season, failing to win a single Premier League match - the only side in the English top-flight yet to record a league victory.
Their current run of form leaves them sitting 19th in the current standings as former head coach Steve Bruce was relieved of his duties last month due to their slump in form.
Now, former Bournemouth coach Howe has replaced Bruce in the managerial hot-seat, with his first away game coming at the Emirates Stadium in less than three weeks time.
The 43-year-old has struggled when facing Arsenal as a manager in the past, winning just once across 11 meetings.
That win came during Arsene Wenger's final season in north London as goals from Jordan Ibe and Callum Wilson secured a 2-1 win at the Vitality Stadium back in January 2018.
Howe has also drawn with the Gunners twice, with the most memorable stalemate coming 12 months prior as Wenger's side came back from 3-0 down, scoring three goals in the last 20 minutes, including a controversial Olivier Giroud equaliser in the 92nd minute.
Arsenal won the other eight encounters against Howe's Cherries and they have also enjoyed a fine recent record against his new employers, winning the last seven meetings with the Tyneside-based club in all competitions.
Before then Mikel Arteta's side travel to Anfield to face off against Liverpool, who they are currently just two points behind after the Reds lost 3-2 to West Ham United over the weekend.
