Talksport host Jason Cundy insisted Crystal Palace would be a better move for Eddie Howe than Celtic - before his claim was shot down by an unlikely hero.
Jamie O'Hara - who once claimed on the radio station that Howe's old side Bournemouth was a bigger job than Rangers - ripped into the argument made by former Chelsea star Cundy.
Cundy claimed that wrestling the Scottish Premiership crown back from Steven Gerrard's Rangers "is like winning an egg race".
He also reckons the Eagles - who are currently still led by veteran boss Roy Hodgson - are a better shout for the former Cherries manager than a move to Glasgow, as Howe remains in advanced talks with Parkhead power-brokers to be Neil Lennon's permanent replacement.
Speaking on the station's Drive show, Cundy said: "I think the club that he needs is Palace. For him personally I think that’s a better job.
"Where do you go from Celtic? Name the managers who have gone from Celtic to manage a big club.
"Brendan (Rodgers) has gone to Leicester and done a fabulous job, but where do they go after that?
"Crystal Palace is a nice project, winning at Celtic is like winning an egg race.

"If you get Palace into European football, that’s a bigger achievement then winning the title with Celtic."
O'Hara, who regularly appears on Talksport's Sports Breakfast show, has at times stirred the pot with both halves of Glasgow's divide by delivering a few similar shouts when comparing Scottish football to our richer neighbours south of the border.
But he's learned his lesson as he made a sensational face turn to stick up for Scottish football in the face of Cundy's laughable claim.
The former Tottenham man Tweeted: "I have to say after my Bournmouth shout and seeing what Gerrard has done in Scotland I have to disagree with this, Celtic and Rangers are huge and the fans worldwide I didn’t realise how big they were, Rodgers went from Liverpool to Celtic he wouldn’t of gone to palace".
