Eddie Howe 'playing' Celtic amid Premier League boss merry-go round claims pundit as Parkhead waiting game continues

Former Rangers defender Craig Moore admits he has concerns that Eddie Howe is 'playing' Celtic to get another job.

The former Bournemouth boss remains the frontrunner to replace Neil Lennon despite no news on an appointment from the club.

In recent weeks Howe has made television appearances and also been linked with Premier League jobs at Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Pundit Moore has concerns the hot seat in Glasgow is being used as a bargaining chip by the Englishman.

Moore told Go Radio: "For me, this is all very interesting.

"Because of all this instability, no comments and no statements, and every job that comes up Eddie Howe is linked to, I kind of get the feeling he is playing Celtic a little bit.

"Every job that comes up he's linked to, so you make a commitment. Celtic supporters are going to want a head coach who wants to be there and I don't really get that feeling.

"He's been out of contract since last year. I think he would be a great appointment for Celtic and his team at Bournemouth played fantastic football.

"I think that would be important to Celtic fans because they want to play and entertaining brand of football."

With links also emerging that interim boss John Kennedy taking on the director of football role at Parkhead, Moore believes that could be a smart decision.

Richard Hughes, who worked with Howe at Bournemouth, had been linked with the role.

Moore said: "I also feel like the link with John Kennedy in a technical director position, that whole change that they are talking about, and therefore they have that long-term protection.

"When we are talking about Eddie Howe bringing in his own director, I'm thinking that has disaster written all over it."
