Eddie Howe next Celtic manager odds tumble after Neil Lennon press conference outburst

Eddie Howe's odds to be the next Celtic manager have tumbled following Neil Lennon's heated press conference.

The Parkhead boss was irate as he fired back at the criticism from the club's controversial trip to Dubai.

Lennon's position has been under threat for the majority of the season with Celtic trailing Rangers in the title race.

Peter Lawwell and the board said in December they would review the situation in January.

Since then, Celtic have lost to Rangers, dropped points against Hibs and Livingston are now 21 points behind their rivals.

Lennon and 13 first team players have been in self-isolation for the previous 10 days, however, after Christopher Jullien and another player tested following the warm-weather training camp in the UAE.

But his job remains on the line with Howe widely tipped as his replacement.

And it appears Lennon's furious outburst at his press conference has seen some movement in the market as the former Bournemouth boss is now 1/5 to be the next manager with some bookmakers.

Jack Ross is next on the list at 10/1, but the Scot has previously shrugged off a switch to Parkhead insisting he is happy at Easter Road.

Lennon's assistant John Kennedy and former managers Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan are among the potential runners and riders if Celtic part ways with the Northern Irishman.
