Eddie Howe earns glowing Celtic verdict from Sir Alex Ferguson as iconic boss rubbishes relegation fault-finding

Impressed Sir Alex Ferguson has picked out Eddie Howe as one of the finest young managers in British football.

The endorsement comes with the 43-year-old primed to become Celtic 's next manager and spearhead a new era at Parkhead.

Howe has received glowing reviews from the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger in the past and now Manchester United legend Ferguson has weighed in.

Sir Alex was in conversation with his former Old Trafford star Gary Neville as he spoke of the brilliance Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp possess at the top of the managerial tree.

And then he raised Howe's name as he waxed lyrical about the man who led Bournemouth from League Two all they way to a top 10 finish in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sports Bible: "On young managers, Eddie Howe had a great period at Bournemouth, for a young manager.

"I think he did very well even though he's relegated it doesn't mean to say he's not a good manager, I think he is a good manager."

Ferguson also pinpointed another rising contender in the management ranks as he bigged-up over Scott Parker despite a second relegation in three years.

He added: "I think the boy Parker at Fulham has done a great job.

"Because I've watched them a lot and they keep playing the football,, they don't change, they don't panic and keep to the beliefs of their manager.

"I think that's a great indication of how good he is."
