Eddie Howe 'closes in' on Celtic job as boss in advanced talks with Parkhead club

Celtic are in 'advanced talks' with Eddie Howe as he closes in on being appointed manager, according to a report.

The Parkhead side are on the lookout for a new boss after Neil Lennon's exit in February.

Howe is the clear frontrunner for the vacant position and it seems the Hoops are on the verge of bringing him to Glasgow.

And the Daily Record claim Celtic are in discussions with the former Bournemouth boss as they look to conclude their search for a new manager.

Howe has reportedly rejected two bids from Premier League clubs as he holds out for the Celtic job.

Celtic have been biding their time to name Lennon's successor, but the wheels have been put in motion in the past 24 hours.

Nick Hammond left his position on Wednesday as the club's head of football operations as Dominic McKay's rebuild starts to take shape as he replaces Peter Lawwell as chief executive.

And it now appears Celtic could finally end the search for a new boss as they prepare to table an offer to Howe.
