Eddie Howe asks Celtic to make move for Bournemouth coaching trio

Eddie Howe has asked Celtic to make a move for Bournemouth trio Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone and Richard Hughes.

The incoming Hoops boss is keen to add Purches and Weatherstone to his coaching staff while he wants Hughes to be his head scout.

Howe has met with Celtic officials over the last 24 hours to outline his plans for the Parkhead job, reports The Daily Record.

Howe has asked Celtic to make the move now after Bournemouth failed to progress out of the Championship play-offs.

The Cherries hierarchy informed their staff yesterday they will need to look at ways of cutting costs after their failed promotion bid.

It means a reduction in terms of their parachute payments from their time in the English Premier League.

Celtic will hope that might work to their advantage when it comes to compensation for the trio.

Howe also had contractual issues which couldn’t be addressed until Bournemouth ’s season was over.

Howe has also spoken to Peter Grant and he may also come into the new-look management set-up.
