Johnathan Woodgate believes former team Tottenham Hotspur will "go foreign" in their search for a next boss.
It comes with Celtic manager favourite Eddie Howe being touted for the vacancy after the axe fell on Jose Mourinho following a dreary 18 months in charge.
Woodgate now manages Howe's former club Bournemouth but he thinks Daniel Levy will have his head turned by candidates like RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann and Ajax standout Erik ten Hag.
But the former Real Madrid and Leeds star wouldn't think twice about giving the job to the 43-year-old who remains the frontrunner to undertake a mammoth Parkhead rebuild.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “I think they will go foreign again – I do think that – although I’d like to see a British manager get the chance.

“Why not put Eddie Howe in there? He’d do a great job – but you never know which way they’re going to go.”
Meanwhile, Woodgate believes trying to tempt Brendan Rodgers from Leicester City would be too much of an ask as the Irishman closes in on Champions League football with Leicester City.
He added: “Leicester are going to be in the Champions League, aren’t they? It depends on the package Tottenham are going to have to offer him – players coming in, players going out, will Son stay, will Harry Kane stay?”
