Charlie Adam believes Eddie Howe 's Celtic transfer war chest will be slashed after poor performances from top stars.
The former Bournemouth boss remains the frontrunner to take over the Celtic hot seat at the end of the Premiership campaign.
However, he faces a massive summer rebuild at Parkhead with a number of big names likes Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard entering the final year of their deal.
After a nightmare campaign for the dethroned champions, former Rangers midfielder Adam believes the value of the likes of the Norwegian defender will plummet.
He told the PLZ Football Show that the budget handed to Howe could be cut drastically with the likes of Premier League new boys being linked with Ajer.
Adam said: “I think the cycle of this group of players is going to dismantle really.
"I think they’ve done brilliantly for the football club over the years winning trophies and trebles but sometimes it just needs the new manager to come and dismantle things.

“Scott Brown leaving is a big hole and it needs somebody like Callum McGregor to step up and take that responsibility.
“Ajer if he is going to Norwich, it’s a far fall from being linked with AC Milan to Norwich, so they need to just maximise the value of the players and get as much money as they can for each player.
“He’ll have a pot of money to spend and then it’s up to Eddie Howe and his recruitment team to bring in the best players possible.”
