Eddie Hearn believes Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor would be 'a lot more competitive' than Floyd Mayweather bout

Eddie Hearns believes a fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor would be "a lot more competitive" than the Dubliner's bout with Floyd Mayweather.

The Notorious, who was defeated by Mayweather in the tenth round of their 2017 bout, has been called out by YouTube star Paul in recent weeks.

Speaking after his win over former basketball player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr last Saturday, Paul said: “I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously.

“There’s a long list of opponents that I want — Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. I’m going to knock them both out.”

Hearn believes that a potential bout between McGregor and Paul would be "reasonably competitive".

The promoter told Sirius XM Boxing: “I think it’s reasonably competitive, especially with the weight difference.

McGregor will take on Dustin Poirier next month as he returns to the UFC for the first time since beating Donald Cerrone in January of this year.
