Some thoughts after Week 9 of the fantasy football season:
_Remember when I said Titans' QB Marcus Mariota was about to go off because of a soft schedule? Since Week 5, Mariota is tied with Aaron Rodgers for the position high in passing touchdowns (13) and is third among quarterbacks in rushing yards (159).
_Don't start your quarterback or wide receivers against the Broncos defense, but don't fear starting your running backs.
_I've been advocating for rookie running backs Kenneth Dixon (Ravens) and Paul Perkins (Giants) since they entered the league. It appears they have been more integrated in their respective team's offense since their bye week. Go ahead and take the flier if they are still available in your league.
_While Rams running back Todd Gurley has certainly been one of fantasy's biggest busts so far, there's hope he could be responsible for saving your season. Los Angeles upcoming schedule: Miami in Week 11; New Orleans in Week 12; an Atlanta defense in Week 14 which has allowed more receiving yards (547) to running backs than any other team this year; Seattle in Week 15 which has allowed the fifth-most rushing yards to backs in the league in the last two weeks; and San Francisco a.k.a. the worst defense in the league in most fantasy championships, Week 16.
_Charcandrick West will not threaten any of Spencer Ware's production when he returns from his concussion.
Here are my best bets for Week 10:
