Ed Woodward to wrap up Man Utd transfers by 'triggering Inaki Williams' release clause'

Ed Woodward is ready to wrap up Manchester United's transfer business by triggering Inaki Williams £81million release clause, according to reports.

The Red Devils received a bid from Inter Milan of £64.7million plus add ons for Romelu Lukaku and United's executive vice chairman is ready to reinvest this money immediately in a replacement forward.

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala had been the Old Trafford club's first choice but the two parties were unable to agree on the Argentina international's wages.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meanwhile reportedly lost interest in the forward as he is only looking to sign individuals who are 100 per cent committed to playing for Man United.

According to El Chiringuito TV Williams has been identified as an alternative target.

And United are reportedly set to trigger the £81million release clause in his Athletic Bilbao contract to make the transfer happen.

Manchester United have been very busy this summer and have already signed three players in the window.

Daniel James was the first man through the door, joining the Red Devils from Swansea City for a conservative £18million.

The Red Devils stepped things up by breaking the record for a full-back when parting with £50million to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.

Man United then broke the record for a centre-back, bringing in Harry Maguire from Leicester City for a staggering £80million.

Should the Red Devils trigger Williams' release clause and sign the striker Solskjaer will have spent an eye-watering £230million on four players.
