Chelsea's summer transfer business has affected Manchester United.
The clubs finished level on points in the Premier League last season as they secured Champions League football, but so far it's the Blues who look the more likely to bridge the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City.
Six new faces have arrived at Stamford Bridge thus far - compared to the sole signing at Old Trafford.
Donny van de Beek has arrived from Ajax to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad, whilst Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva, and Kai Havertz have all joined the Frank Lampard revolution.
The last of which was confirmed last Friday as the Blues smashed their transfer record to sign the Germany international from Bayer Leverkusen for an initial £72m fee.
As explained by club director Marina Granovskaia, the Blues simply couldn't miss the boat on one of European football's most promising youngsters.
"Kai is one of the best players of his age in world football, so we are very happy that his future lies at Chelsea," she told Chelsea's club website."He has proven pedigree in one of the best leagues in Europe, he plays for the German national side and he is an exciting, dynamic talent.
"We are delighted to be able to add his versatility and quality to the squad before the season begins."
Upon sealing his long-awaited move to the Premier League, Havertz was clearly thrilled to have made the move from red to blue.
"I am very happy and proud to be here," he told the club website. "For me, it is a dream come true to play in a big club like Chelsea and I can’t wait to meet all the players and the trainers.
"Yeah, I am very happy to be here!"
Chelsea's capture of Havertz means that Man United missed out on signing the attacking midfielder.
As confirmed by the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils - who had been linked with a move for Havertz earlier in the window - had no intention of meeting Leverkusen's asking price for the playmaker as they opted against pursuing a deal.
In addition, the report states that they still pursued a deal for priority target Jadon Sancho, with Havertz viewed as a possible alternative to the Borussia Dortmund winger rather than an additional signing.
Sancho remains the priority target for United this summer and chief executive Ed Woodward has already decided on the club's next two moves after opting against a deal for Havertz.
A new centre-back is on the radar but only if the right candidate is available for an acceptable fee this summer.
Furthermore, the club are monitoring Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon who was linked with Chelsea prior to Chilwell ending their search for a new left-back.
