Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward could fund as much as £30million in January by clearing out the club's deadwood.
With a winger, a centre-back, a right-back and a holding midfielder all in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ’s sights, Woodward will need to push fringe players out of the exit.

With Dean Henderson returning to Old Trafford after his two-year loan spell at Sheffield United, it appears that Sergio Romero’s time at the Red Devils is up.
And with the highly-rated Argentine keeper’s contract set to expire in June, the January window is the perfect time to cash in and raise £1.8m.
Eric Bailly is another who has slipped down the pecking order and would fetch around £16m.
Two other forgotten centre-backs could add an extra £10m to United’s funds, with Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones both valued at £5.47m.
Rojo spent last season at Argentine Primera Division side Estudiantes, while Jones has made just two Premier League appearances since August 2019.
Reports United are on the search for a back-up right-back could signal the end of Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s career at Old Trafford, and the 22-year-old would fetch just over £3.65m.
Fosu-Mensah would not be the only United youth product heading for the exit, with Jesse Lingard also struggling to break into Solskjaer’s team.
Lingard is yet to make a first-team appearance in any competition this season, and his departure would bring in £9m.
Finally, although he has made six top-flight appearances this year Juan Mata’s contract is up in June, and selling him would add the final £6.8m to Woodward’s fund of £32.25m.
