Ed Sheeran joins The Voice USA to mentor remaining contestants on talent show

Ed Sheeran is set to join The Voice judging panel alongside Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, John Legend and Blake Shelton.

The British singer-songwriter, 30, will make his appearance as a 'mega mentor' on the talent show for the new season, according to NBC Universal.

He is set to mentor contestants who've made it through the Battle Rounds with their respective coaches.

Ed, who is a very successful musician in his own right, will make his debut on the singing series on Monday October 25, during the Knockout Rounds.

A statement from NBC said: "Utilizing his vast experience in songwriting, musical production and performing to provide multi-faceted mentorship, Sheeran will guide the artists in their vocal and technical choices and tailor the artists’ songs to their strengths to bolster each performance."

Ed is gearing up to release his brand new album on October 29.

The singer claimed it is "really personal" when he announced the news in August.

The famous pop star said he has been writing and recording the album for four years - starting back in 2017.

The album is called = (Equals) and is the fourth instalment in the musician's symbol album series.

It was recently revealed the chart-topping singer paid himself a salary of over £21 million for just one year of work due to his success.

Ed appeared to rake in a fortune despite the pandemic and lockdowns.

While another company which manages his tour earnings which generated more than £180 million in the last two years alone.

The star made £112.4 million over the past three years – of which £31.7 million was made over the past year during which time much of the world was in lockdown, reports MailOnline.

And of the £31 million he made last year, it is reported that he paid himself the handsome sum of £21,350.000 via dividends.

Ed didn’t release any new music last year and was unable to tour, but still raked in a fortune regardless.
