Ed Sheeran was forced to defend himself to mean internet trolls who called him "fat" and "chunky".
The singer-songwriter, 28, claimed he lost four stone after receiving hateful messages from online haters.
Ed says the abusive messages targeted at him were so bad that it forced him to delete his Twitter in 2017, during which time he weighed 16st.
He said: “I never had insecurities and people pointed them out — your brain starts thinking about them.
“It all stems from other people’s insecurities. So many people have things they’re insecure about so it makes them feel better to point out someone else’s."

He added: "Because half the people that would point out that I’m fat are probably fat themselves.”
The healthier move was supported by his wife Cherry, who helped him set up a balanced diet and good exercise pattern to maintain while on tour, which ended this past August.
Ed continued: “My problem was I’d go to the pub, have bangers and mash, a pie, maybe a pudding and then loads of pints. And then not exercise.
“My friends used to call me Two Dinners Teddy. On tour, it’s very easy to drink every single day because there’s always someone visiting.
“I had to make a real effort on the tour. I’m 12st now. I started running. I’ve got into cycling as well.”

He added: “I wasn’t in my first three or four videos.
"I was the same sort of age as the One Direction boys and Justin Bieber and all these people who had six-packs and I was kind of like, ‘Oh should I look like this?’”
It comes as the singer dropped the bombshell he plans to slow down on his music career earlier this year.
And the Shape Of You hitmaker's manager Stuart Camp revealed Ed, 28, could be starting a family very soon with his new wife Cherry Seaborn.
The music manager claimed the red-head singer could be starting his brood after tying the knot in December last year.
He told Music Week : “He won’t sit still for long. He’s not the holiday sort. But things may change – he could have a young family relatively soon."
