Ed Sheeran at 3Arena Dublin stage times, getting there, and expected set list

Ed Sheeran fans are expected to flock to Dublin's 3Arena this evening as the star kicks off his string of 'intimate' gigs ahead of the release of his sixth album ‘-‘ (Subtract) in May.

The 'Bad Habits' singer's Dublin gig saw tickets sell out within minutes earlier this month when they want on sale, and if you're one of the lucky 8,000 Ed Sheeran fans it's set to be an unmissable gig to remember like his summer gigs in Croke Park last summer. Fans will get the chance to hear his new single Eyes Closed live for the first time with his gigs in the UK, Ireland and Paris.

According to The Times his first London date last week was "a punishing two-hour set with no band, no backing singers and barely a water break". Here is everything you need to know about the Ed Sheeran gig at the 3Arena tonight, Thursday 30 March, from stage times to support acts to getting to the venue.

Stage times and who is supporting Ed Sheeran?

Cork singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot is supporting Ed Sheeran at Dublin's 3Arena tonight Thursday 30 March, and he will reportedly be on stage from 7pm. Ed Sheeran himself is expected to be on stage at around 8pm, according to the official stage times.

Doors will open for the 3Arena gig at 6pm for concert goers, and organsiers are advising attendees to give themselves plenty of time to travel to the venue, as heavy traffic is to be expected. Attendees are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible to help limit congestion in the area.

What you can and can't bring to Dublin's 3Arena

Food and drink cannot be brought into The 3Arena, but there will be concession stands and bars throughout the venue serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a range of sweets and snacks.

The maximum bag size allowed into the venue for the concert is 40cm x 40cm x 20cm, with small bags subject to a search upon entry. Banned items at the venue include bottles, cans, selfie sticks, laser pointers, large umbrellas, posters A3 size or larger and professional camera equipment.

How to get to the 3Arena for Ed Sheeran

Public transport is by far the best way to get to the 3Arena for Ed Sheeran's gig tonight Thursday 30 March.

Irish Rail provides a great link to the city from all over the country, bringing you to Connolly or Heuston Station from where you can hop on the Luas, straight to 3Arena which will leave you at The Point stop.

Meanwhile, Dublin Bus routes that take you near the venue include the number 151 (which operates every 10 minutes to Castelforbes Road with the venue just a two minute walk away), 100X, 47, 500, 505,and the N4. The last 151 bus departs Castleforbes Road at 23:15pm Monday to Saturday.

The Point Village carpark is the closest car park to 3Arena, although attendees should be advised that they have limited car spaces.

Potential set list for 3Arena gig

An official set list for The 3Arena gig has not been confirmed, and Ed Sheeran previously wrote on Instagram: "The plans for these shows were zero setlist and just play what you guys wanted to hear, and I’m having the most fun doing it and getting to revisit some old album cuts."

However, according to reviews of recent stops on this brief tour, you can definitely expect a lot of classic Sheeran singles in a stripped back, acoustic setting with his trusty loop pedal. At his recent second gig in the O2 in London last Saturday Ed Sheeran had these songs on his set list:

The A Team

Shivers

Drunk

I'm a Mess

Don't / In Da Club / No Diggity / The Next Episode

Give Me Love

Tenerife Sea

First Times

Castle on the Hill

Lego House / Someone You Loved

Kiss Me / Kiss Me (Ed Sheeran / Sixpence None the Richer songs)

Overpass Graffiti (acoustic)

I See Fire

Thinking Out Loud

One / Photograph

Eyes Closed

Perfect

Bloodstream

The Parting Glass (traditional cover)

Afterglow

Encore:

Shape of You

Bad Habits

You Need Me, I Don't Need You
