Ed Sheeran adds extra Ireland dates as all ticket buyers warned of unique rules for gigs

Ed Sheeran has added four dates to his Ireland trip after huge demand when tickets went on sale on Saturday morning.

Sheeran is set to return next April and May for shows in Croke Park, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Thomond Park and Boucher Road Playing Fields for his “+ - = ÷ x Tour”, pronounced “The Mathematics Tour”.

An extra date in each of the four cities has been added.

But fans of Ed Sheeran are warned they will face strict ticket rules ahead of the star’s concert dates.

Customers will need to verify the sale through their phone number.

The person buying the tickets must be attending the concert, while the rest of the tickets they buy can be given to their friends and family as long as they arrive at the venue together.

If tickets are bought as gifts, the buyer will be required to show up to get the concert-goers in.

These strict rules come as Sheeran himself introduced new rules as a result of ticket touting. In 2018, the English singer cancelled more than 10,000 tickets for his Divide stadium tour upon discovering they had been bought by resellers, hoping to make a profit.

“Once again, Ed and his team have a strict stance against anyone using unofficial secondary ticketing sites in order to try and stop fans being exploited when trying to buy tickets for his shows,” a statement on AikenPromotions.com said.

Tickets will be €81 for standing and €91 for seated. A service charge of €7.15 per ticket will apply, according to Sheeran’s website.

Customers will be limited to six tickets per transaction in order to prevent bulk buying.

Trying to do multiple transactions on the same device will result in tickets being cancelled.
