Ed Reed says he won’t be joining Bears coaching staff

When Chuck Pagano was named the Chicago Bears new defensive coordinator, speculation began that Ed Reed would soon follow as a member of his defensive staff.

Unfortunately, the Bears won’t have a Hall-of-Famer coaching their defensive backs.

Reed dismissed the idea Saturday.

“No, man,” Reed said Saturday night via the Chicago Tribune. “That didn’t happen. I didn’t even get an interview if that helps you.”

Nagy was even blunter on the subject.

“We have (assistant defensive backs) and that is about it,” Nagy said.

So, sorry Bears fans. Reed won’t be coaching up Eddie Jackson anytime soon.
