RAIPUR: BJP national vice president and former Chief Minister Raman Singh has said the latest searches by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Chhattisgarh have shed light on a potentially intricate connection between the state administration and the world of illicit betting.
"Earlier, many scams such as coal levy scam, liquor scam, and rice scam came to light, but the latest revelation is shocking that the names of people close to power figured in an illicit betting racket", he told reporters after chief minister's political adviser Vinod Verma termed ED search and seizure at his residence as dacoity.
The former Chief Minister emphasized that the evidence and testimonials presented by the ED indicate a significant monthly financial influx to these people. This money allegedly flowed through the "Mahadev App," a platform believed to be used for betting activities.
Referring to the upcoming elections, Singh said former IAS officer Neelkanth Tekkam and many others have joined the party. He said there is a growing momentum for the BJP and increased public engagement as the party gears up for the elections.
