Ecstatic fans celebrate as Harry Kane nets in extra time to get England into Euro 2020 final

Incredible, incredible drama.

As Sir Alex Ferguson famously said: "Football, bloody hell."

Into extra-time - penalties looming.

But this was the truly magical moment dreams came true for ecstatic England football fans in Manchester - and around the world.

Three Lions skipper Harry Kane stepped up to take a penalty in the 104th minute of the tie.

It was saved by Denmark 'keeper Kasper Schmeichel, but Kane was there to ram home the rebound and send supporters into ecstasy.

The strike sent England into their first major tournament final since 1966 - and we all know what happened there.

A controversial penalty, maybe.

But there can be no doubting England deserved a slice of luck after - to paraphrase the song which boomed out around a balmy Wembley Stadium - all those 'years of hurt'.

At a packed fan zone staged at Event City in Trafford, fans went into unbridled delirium.

Shirts were ripped off in celebration as fireworks could be heard in the night sky around Stretford.

Friends hugged as Kane's goal went in and beers were hurled into the air.

Fans, simply, couldn't believe it - after what was for long periods a nervy night.

It wasn't a great start for Gareth's Southgate's men.

After a bright and buoyant start, England found themselves 1-0 down on the half hour mark.

But the Danish advantage didn't last long.

Bukayo Saka darted behind the Denmark defence and squared into the path of Raheem Sterling, who was beaten to the ball by Danish skipper Simon Kjaer, who could only turn it into his own net.

The own-goal was greeted with wild celebration.

But the scenes for Kane's goal were something else, as our video clips show.

England will now face Italy in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley on Sunday.

Let's hope for more of the same - so there will be no more years of hurt.
