Eco homes: energy-efficient London properties for sale with solar panels, green roofs and car charging points

Homes with energy-efficient features and ratings

(Picture: ES)

The Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) may have set unit prices for two years from October 1 but, make no mistake, the £2,500 a year figure being talked about is not a cap — it’s an average.

Households that use over the ‘average’ amount will pay more, households that use below the ‘average’ will pay less.

While this is considerably less than the estimates of around £3,500 a year forecast as recently as a month ago — Prime Minister Liz Truss announced the EPG on September 8 — the increased cost of energy remains at the forefront of billpayers’ minds.

Added to this are mortgage rate increases, interest rate hikes and the rise in the cost of living. Anyone looking to move home this year will no doubt pay close attention to energy efficiency and that all important Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

EPCs tell you how energy-efficient a home is, with ratings ranging from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient).

According to ONS, London has the highest median energy efficiency of all English regions with an average D rating.

Here are nine homes for sale now with impressive eco tools — from solar panels to green roofs — raising them higher than the London EPC average.
