Regenerative label Sheep Inc teams up with repair experts, The Seam, to launch a UK-wide knitwear care service and fight fashion waste in a stylish way.
If you’ve ever felt guilty about chucking a favourite jumper because of a few snags or bobbles, here’s some good news. Sheep Inc — the fashion brand that’s all about natural fibres and serious sustainability — has just launched a knitwear repair and care service to help you hang onto your woollies for the long haul.
Billed as the “world’s first carbon-negative fashion brand,” Sheep Inc. has partnered with The Seam, a major UK-based clothing repair platform, to introduce The Knit Clinic — a new service designed to breathe new life into your knitwear. The idea is simple: stop tossing clothes for minor wear and tear, and start looking after what you’ve already got.
“Sheep Inc has always focused on circularity and garment stewardship,” the brand said, adding that the clinic offers customers “an easy, professional way to maintain and extend the life of their knitwear.”
Through The Seam’s sleek digital platform, you can book a variety of aftercare treatments — everything from stitch repairs and reblocking to de-pilling and full-on refreshes. Each job is handled by experienced makers who specialise in knitwear, so you know your jumpers are in good hands.
The service is now live on Sheep Inc’s official website and available to customers all over the UK. Once booked, your item is collected, worked on, and returned directly to your door — usually within just a few days. It’s quick, convenient, and helps keep clothing waste out of landfills.
This move is the latest in a string of sustainability-led efforts from the forward-thinking label. A couple of months ago, Sheep Inc. turned heads by launching The Merino Swimshorts, a fully biodegradable pair of swimmers made from traceable Merino wool. No synthetics, no microplastics, and when they’ve run their course, they break down naturally, leaving nothing behind. It’s all part of the brand’s wider mission to make clothing that performs well, looks good, and respects the planet.
The swimwear line is crafted using Reda Active 100% ZQ-certified Merino wool, paired with a Yarnaway biodegradable lining that, as Sheep Inc. puts it, “leaves no trace, no microplastics, and no compromises.”
As the conversation around fast fashion and textile waste grows louder, initiatives like this are showing that style and sustainability can genuinely go hand in hand. According to a report by WRAP, extending the life of a garment by just nine months can reduce its carbon footprint by around 20 to 30 percent, so every repair counts.
With The Knit Clinic now live and eco-innovations like biodegradable swimwear gaining traction, it looks like Sheep Inc. is making it that bit easier for shoppers to choose better, not more.
