Eco entrepreneurs invited to take part in Natwest's free climate accelerator programme

Businesses in the South West striving to help the environment are being invited to apply to a free accelerator programme.

The NatWest Climate Entrepreneur Accelerator is designed to help eco businesses grow and scale, according to the bank.

The virtual three-month scheme will include specialist one-to-one mentoring; group workshops; access to specialist networks and supply chains including those in the climate sector; and support from NatWest’s national programme partners including Dell Technologies, Pinsent Masons, Equifax, Deloitte Propel, FreeAgent and Hiscox.

The programme is fully funded by the bank with no requirements for businesses to give up equity.

Charly Patrick, NatWest Entrepreneur Acceleration Manager in the South West, said: “We want to offer climate focussed businesses wraparound support to help them achieve their goals supporting the environment, in addition to the support provided through our core accelerator programme.

“Our NatWest Climate Accelerator programme has been tailored to empower Climate focused businesses looking to grow and scale.

“In addition to all of the benefits of our core Accelerator programme, our Climate Accelerator specifically addresses the needs of Climate focused businesses.

“We have designed this programme having identified some of the key challenges faced by these types of businesses.”

The scheme is part of an initiative by NatWest to have at least 25 per cent of businesses on its October programme that support sustainable environmental activities.

Applications to the accelerator close on September 28.

Visit the NatWest website to apply and select ‘Climate Accelerator’ under ‘Hub Location’.
