Eco app gains 1000 new backers as it beats crowdfunding target three times over

Eco app start-up Pawprint has gained 1000 plus new investors as well as raising more than £300,000 in a crowdfunding campaign which closes today.

The campaign on Crowdcube – which closes at midnight tonight -went live on 14 April and within six hours had smashed through its original £100,000 target.

The crowdfund attracted major investors including BrewDog 'captain' James Watt, The VeganKInd co-founder Scott McCulloch and Hugh Little, retired head of Acquisitions at Aberdeen Asset Management.

The crowdfund brings the total investment raised to more than £900,000, with it having previously raised £580,00 from a group of angel investors including Oli Norman of Itison and Kevin Dorrian from Dietchef.

Pawprint founder and CEO Christian Arno said: “We are delighted to welcome over 1000 new investors to the Pawprint family.

“We’ve always said that in order to win the fight against climate change we need many people all willing to take collective action for the good of the planet and we now have over 1000 reasons to be optimistic.”

The Pawprint crowdfund remains open until midnight tonight for investments between £10 and £15,000.
