Eccentric 'psychic' Uri Geller just invited everyone in Scotland to his private East Lothian island

72-year-old spoon bender and TV personality Uri Geller has extended a very charitable invitation to the entire population of Scotland in the aftermath of the national team's stunning victory over Serbia last night: he wants us all to go and celebrate with him on his private Scottish island off North Berwick in the Firth of Forth.

After sharing a clip where he said he had used his psychic powers to help propel Scotland to victory in the tournament, Geller tweeted: "I believe in in my powers. Well done Scotland I’m inviting you all to my private Scottish Island for more inspiration Lamb Island."

In the clip, he says: “He is going to miss. He is not going to score. I believe in my power. I won’t move the ball but he’ll miss.”

Former Celtic goalkeeper Marshall then pulled off the save.

Geller then said: “Yes! Yes! Yes! I love you Scotland. We did it!" before inviting everyone to his island, in violation of current East Lothian lockdown rules, which limit outdoor gatherings to a maximum of six people from two different households.

Geller bought relatively inhospitable island The Lamb for £30,000 in 2009, believing it has links to the pyramids at Giza and the Knights Templar.

In 2010, he announced a plan to camp on the island and look for ancient artefacts thought to be left by Tutankamun's sister, by using a Y-shaped twig to dowse for the treasure.

Reactions to the invitation to Uri Geller's magical East Lothian Egyptian treasure island were mixed.

One person said:

"LOL Laughing my socks off at the thought of Uri doing nine disappointed takes over five minutes of videoing this. Five takes holding the Serbia jersey during Scotland kicks to tweet to Serbia if they'd won, and four holding the Scotland jersey as Serbians scored the first four."
