ECB reveal ticket prices for The Hundred as they prioritise 'affordability for families and young people'

Children will be able to watch the likes of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Steve Smith compete in this summer’s inaugural The Hundred competition for just £5, after the ECB unveiled its first wave of ticket pricing for the new tournament.

The competition, based around 100-ball-per-side innings, will see eight new franchises taking part, two of which are based in London, with some of the world’s biggest stars set to feature after being selected at last year’s draft.

The hope is that the new format will help carry the game to a wider audience, building on the success of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, held in England and Wales.

As such, the ECB say ticket pricing has prioritised “affordability for families and young people”.

Under-16s will be able to attend any match for just £5, while the majority of adult tickets for men’s group games will cost £30 or less, and as little as £8 for women’s matches, if purchased during the ‘early bird’ window.

Tickets go on pre-sale to county members next week, on January 15, with other fans able to register their interest now for two priority windows in February and April.

Tickets then go on general sale on April 8, with early bird prices available until April 22.
