The England and Wales Cricket Board could be dragged into a compensation battle over the new head coach, Trevor Bayliss, after reports that Cricket New South Wales has instructed a legal firm to investigate whether they could claim a payment.
According to the Telegraph, a firm in Sydney is looking into whether NSW, where Bayliss was just one month into a new two-year contract believed to be worth around £75,000 per year when he was appointed by the ECB, could claim compensation. The 52-year-old is due to arrive in England on 26 June in time for the Ashes series that starts on 8 July.
