Eberechi Eze is in Crystal Palace’s starting line-up to face Chelsea on Sunday.
Standard Sport understands Oliver Glasner was set to leave him out of the squad on Saturday night with a move to Tottenham well in the works.
However, Glasner changed his mind on Sunday morning and decided that Eze would be involved, as talks between Palace and Spurs on Saturday night had not led to a significant breakthrough.
Talks remain ongoing and Spurs are still working on securing a deal for the England international.
They believe they may be able to sign him for less than the total package of his £68million release clause, which expired on Friday.
The 27-year-old is a crucial player for Palace and scored the only goal as they won the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley in May.
The Eagles are boosted by having him available to start at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon for their first match of the new Premier League season.
