Ebanie Bridges predicts fireworks in Fight Camp bout with Bec Connolly

Ebanie Bridges expects her fight with Bec Connolly to catch fire early when the pair square off at Fight Camp this weekend.

Bridges stole the fight week headlines when she faced Shannon Courtenay for the bantamweight title back in April, and the fight ultimately lived up to the hype.

Courtenay ended up taking the belt after a gritty 10-round war that saw both women severely marked up, including a nasty swollen eye for Bridges.

And after recovering from that injury, she is back on British soil and ready for her next test; the veteran Bec Connolly, in promoter Eddie Hearn's back garden.

"Bec always comes out strong and fast, and I'm a bit similar," said Bridges.

"I feel like it's going to be a heated fight because we both like to get into a scrap, but I'm not going to get drawn into a firefight if I can just box her.

"I'm definitely going for the stoppage, and she's not somebody who really gets stopped, particularly at 118 lbs which would be the lighter side.

"It would make a big impact because girls aren't stopping her and they're often fighting her without much of a camp at all, so I'm excited to test myself against her with proper preparation.

"If I can stop her, that will be a big point proven, but I'm not banking on it."

The build-up to her fight with Courtenay was filled with talk of weigh-in outfits and lingerie, but this time around Bridges and Connolly are set for a more traditional boxing match, with a considerably less intense build-up.

"I'm not too fussed as long as people talking about me and they're asking me questions," Bridges explained to Mirror Fighting.

"If people want to ask me about lingerie they can, I feel like I wasn't really bringing it up, there were some interviews but Shanny was bringing it up.

"I'm cool with it, I'm not fussed either way."

And Connolly believes that Bridges' unique brand of promotion is ultimately good for the sport, and says she will be asking for advice on how to increase her revenue from social media once the fight is done.

"I need to get some tips from her don't I?" Connolly joked when asked what she feels about her opponent's outside of the ring antics.

"I'm definitely going to pick her brains after this fight because she's clearly a hustler and she's done a really good job of it.

"We're completely different women in our approach, I'm a complete technophobe and I've only just figured out Instagram but I do need that stuff.

"There's room for everyone in this sport, there is room for everyone so if she's not your type of fighter just don't talk about it, there's no need to get gobby."

And in terms of her in-ring style, Connolly is a fan of Bridges for her go-forward approach to fighting which very nearly saw her earn the world title last time out against Courtenay.

"I love her style because I'm a scrapper," Connolly continued. "I like seeing her kind of style.

"But actually if you watch her fight as well, people say she's scrapping but she is very accurate with her shots and she picks them very well and has clear power."
