Eating Hazard! Real Madrid star ‘trying not to eat a lot of buns’ during coronavirus lockdown

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard admits he is ‘trying not to eat a lot of buns’ during the coronavirus lockdown.

Hazard, now at Real Madrid, is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained against Levante in February.

The Belgian international was criticised when he arrived at Madrid a little overweight last summer, and the 29-year-old has admitted that the social lockdown in Spain as a result of the coronavirus pandemic is presenting new temptations.

"It's complicated for me," Hazard told Belgian broadcaster RTBF. "I'm trying not to eat a lot.

"I'm trying not to go into the pantry to eat a lot of buns, but it's not easy."

Like most clubs, Real Madrid have given their players a strict diet and fitness regime to follow during the break in the LaLiga season, and Hazard says that he’s using a physic to aid his recovery as he looks to return to full fitness.

"I'm working with the physic online," Hazard explained. "He can't come here anymore because he fell ill and has to stay at home.

"We started 10 days ago, but he sends me videos from home."

"I'm working to strengthen my ankle and I'm doing what I can from home."
