Eat Out to Help Out: The Dome reopens to Edinburgh visitors after months of closure

The Dome has reopened to visitors for the first time since March, after facing months of closure during lockdown.

The George Street staple welcomed customers back to its restaurant and bar at midday, with a host of new hygiene measures in place.

Although indoor hospitality venues have been allowed to trade again since July, the Dome has only reopened today (August 19).

However, the venue have been running their sister restaurant, the Rose Street Garden, in the outdoor space at the back of the building.

According to the Dome, staff have been trained in coronavirus hygiene measures, with a range of new features in place to protect customers and the staff themselves.

Team members will be required to wash their hands every 30 mins, with a temperature and health check required before the start of each shift.

Customers will also be asked to use the sanitising stations provided and will need to register their details for the track and trace system.

The venue will also undergo a deep clean each evening, with other regular cleans being carried out throughout the day.

As part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, the Dome have also announced they will be offering 50 per cent off of food and soft drinks from Monday to Wednesday for the remainder of August.
