Eat Out to Help Out: Tesco cafe's half-price deal includes a full English for just £2

Tesco is cutting prices in half at its cafés.

The supermarket is launching its own version of the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme by slashing menu prices.

Tesco cafés will be offering 50 per cent off from Monday to Wednesday in August.

That's after the supermarket giant decided to launch its own version of the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme, just without the government part, reports The Mirror.

Tesco has confirmed it will be funding the promotion themselves, rather than taking reimbursement from the government scheme.

So unlike Eat Out to Help Out, the supermarket will let customers take away food and there's no £10 limit.

You can pick up a full English breakfast, at any time of day, for £2.07, a coffee for 75p, or a children's meal including a main, side and drink for £1.42.

Tesco Café managing director Adam Martin said: "We know that the past few months have been tough for lots of people in our local communities.

"We believe everyone deserves freshly cooked, top quality, great value meals, and a break from cooking at home.

"We look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces back to the Café – we can’t wait to serve you again."
