Eat Out To Help Out: Is scheme still valid in Northern Ireland on Bank Holiday Monday?

The UK's Eat Out To Help Out scheme has seen hundreds of thousands of people flock to their favourite restaurants and cafes over the last month, in an effort to restart the hospitality industry following lockdown.

The scheme, which gives people the opportunity to eat out for 50% off their bills on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, began at the start of August, with many restaurants across Northern Ireland taking part.

And, it appears that the scheme was a success.

Over 84,000 restaurants took part across the UK, with as many as 64 million meals being eaten at a discount price during the month.

Does the scheme still apply on Bank Holiday Monday?

Today, August 31st, is a Bank Holiday in Northern Ireland.

For those wondering whether the Eat Out To Help Out scheme will be still apply on this day - the answer is yes , the scheme still applies today.

This is also the final day that diners can avail of the scheme, as tomorrow brings an end to August.

Despite this, various outlets across Northern Ireland have indicated that they will be continuing the 50% off scheme right throughout September, as it has attracted so many customers.

Among those who have said that they will be continuing the scheme are local favourites like Cutter's Wharf, Deanes restaurant, Bengal Brassiere, The Nest Lisburn, Castello Italia, and many others.

We'll be updating our list of restaurants which are continuing the Eat Out To Help Out scheme throughout September regularly.
