Eat out to help out Edinburgh, latest map lists hundreds of cafés, pubs and restaurants

A new interactive map has been released showing hundreds of places where you can eat out for cheap in Edinburgh.

The map’s creators Quest Native said: “There are 58,785 #EatOutToHelpOut venues in the UK of which 4,754 in Scotland and 667 in Edinburgh,” (according to government data from Friday, August 8).

The government list of restaurants keeps growing but with the data presented in the form of a long list of business names within five miles of the user’s postcode, the data could be easier to look at.

This has encouraged a spate of tech-savvy firms to release maps of the government data, to make it easier for hungry customers to find participating eateries near them.

As well as restaurants, this latest map from Quest Native also shows hundreds of tourist attractions and whether they are open or closed still.

Business owners can sign up to add their venues to the map.

Quest Native usually allows users to explore Edinburgh and Scotland while completing challenges and collecting points on their app.

But for now the company is focusing on helping people to find delicious local restaurants and support small businesses in Edinburgh.

You can take a look at the map on the Quest Native website, here.
