Eat Drink Pink for breast cancer awareness

The Peninsula Bangkok is once again to present its third edition of "Eat Drink Pink".

To commemorate the globally-run Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, the hotel's compassionate initiative, dubbed "Eat Drink Pink", combines the charitable deed with a vast array of culinary excellence from across Bangkok.

Through a benevolent gala dinner, the event aims to help raise funds for Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer of the Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Last year's event, held in October, accumulated more than 1.2 million baht for the charity. Part of the money was used to support Pink Park Village, the world's first non-profit holistic care and diagnostic centre, under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. The centre, located in Bangkok, provides a hospice and convalescence home and day-care for breast cancer patients by an experienced team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists and nutritionists.

The 2017 grand gastronomic affair is set to welcome philanthropists and highbrow epicureans on the evening of Nov 20.

Representing this year's gourmet line-up are a selection of highly-acclaimed dining establishments such as Bo.lan, Bunker, Eat Me, Err, Il Fumo, Le Du, Lenzi, Nahm, Never-Ending Summer and Vesper. The affair will enable guests to enjoy international signature menus and beverages by some of the city's top chefs and bartenders through a multi-course feast.

Each delicious creation is exclusively crafted to incorporate cancer awareness ideas, inspiration and iconic pink hues with culinary dexterity.

Among highlighted dishes to be served are Agitagueda-inspired balsamic-glazed Dutch eel from Lake Markemeer with foie gras, limoncello and seasonal flowers; home-made paccheri pasta with Sicilian deep-ocean red prawn; deep-fried sustainably-harvested squid with turmeric and chicken satay; and foie gras with strawberry foam, fried sage and brown butter sage crumble.

Each dining ticket enters guests in a grand prize draw to win a stay at The Peninsula Beijing, The Peninsula Shanghai or The Peninsula New York. Guests can also support the charitable initiative by purchasing a special pink ribbon pin.

The "Eat Drink Pink 2017" gala dinner starts at 6pm at the Peninsula Bangkok on Nov 20. Tickets are priced at 3,000 baht per person. All proceeds will be donated to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer.
