EasyJet will ‘provide flexibility’ to Scots looking to fly to and from Aberdeen amid renewed lockdown restrictions.
The budget airline currently allows customers to change their flights free of charge up to 14 days before the flight.
A charge of £32 will be applied outside of those 14 days.
But bosses behind the firm say they are open to transferring flights for free for customers who no longer want to travel to areas such as Aberdeen due to coronavirus restrictions, reports Belfast Live.
Customers will also be able to snap up a voucher for the value of the flights as an alternative.
The policy is applicable for areas of the UK that have been locked down due to a surge in coronavirus cases
These places include Leicester, Greater Manchester, Luton and Aberdeen.
EasyJet say that none of the airports it operates from are currently impacted by restrictions but they are monitoring the situation.
It operates flights from London Luton to Aberdeen, but the airline says that the service has not been affected.
A spokesperson said: “We continue to monitor the situation and are providing flexibility for customers who, if they no longer wish to travel, can transfer their flights without a change fee or receive a voucher for the value of their booking."
Pubs, bars and restaurants were among those to close in the Granite City last week due to a ‘significant’ outbreak of Covid-19.
The cluster inside Aberdeen had grown to 157 new cases, as reported yesterday.
Nicola Sturgeon is set to review the local lockdown later this week.
