easyJet is opening its first ever airport lounge where passengers can enjoy perks such as free hot food, complementary Wi-Fi and a games room to help keep the kids entertained ahead of family holidays.
The Gateway by easyJet & No1 Lounges will offer a number of spaces for families including plenty of seating, a TV den and a games room, not to mention there will also be spaces for business travellers looking for a quiet place to work.
Passengers will be able to choose from complementary hot and cold menus, with freshly prepared food which can be served straight to their table. There will also be a self-service offering with side dishes and a selection of both hot and cold drinks. There will also be signature cocktails on offer.
The new lounge will open its doors to the public at Gatwick Airport from October 21 (Thursday).
Holidaymakers can choose from packages up to three hours with prices starting from £18.50.
Bookings have already opened online here through easyJet's exclusive partnership with Holiday Extras.
The lounge won't be exclusively for easyJet passengers - anyone travelling through London Gatwick's North Terminal can book to use the lounge "regardless of airline or travel ticket class".
However if you are an easyJet passenger you can also turn up without a booking and simply present your boarding pass to gain access (you'll still need to pay for entry).
The new lounge has come after the airline found that there was a return to business travel following the effects of the pandemic.
Rachael Smith, Commercial Proposition & Innovation Director for easyJet, explained that ""the launch is timely as we are seeing the recovery begin in the UK, not only for leisure travel where winter sun destinations are proving popular once again, but for business travellers too, who are returning in their biggest numbers since before the pandemic".
She added: "Whatever the reason for travel, we are confident that the lounge will provide the perfect destination for customers wanting to get their trip off to a perfect start."
Meanwhile Shaun Weston, Managing Director of No1 Lounges, said that the company anticipates "that this lounge will be extremely popular during the travel renaissance as we recover from challenging times".
easyJet is currently the largest airline at Gatwick - and the airport is also its largest base with 71 easyJet aircraft, which fly to over 120 routes. The company flew around 19million passengers in 2019.
