EasyJet reports first annual loss in 25-year history as Covid-19 hits travel

BUSINESS DAILY © FRANCE 24

The low-cost airline EasyJet has reported an annual loss of £1.27 billion (€1.4 billion) for the year to the end of September, a first in the company's history. Like its rivals, EasyJet's finances have been hit by the slump in travel in recent months, and it's operating only 20 percent of its flights in the last three months of 2020. Meanwhile, another travel industry titan, Airbnb, has seen its fortunes improve, reporting a return to profit in recent months. The company also plans to press ahead with a stock market launch.
