EasyJet "providing flexibility" for customers with flights to locked-down areas like Manchester

EasyJet has said it is "providing flexibility" for customers who booked flights to areas that have since locked down.

The airline allows flight changes free of charge up to 14 days before a flight, with a £32 charge outside of the 14 days.

But they said they are open to transferring flights free of charge for customers who no longer want to travel to places like Manchester, which has been locked down because of Coronavirus again.

Alternatively, a voucher for the value of the flights is also on offer.

The airline said none of the airports they operate from are currently impacted by restrictions but that they are monitoring the situation.

Four areas have now locked down locally across England and Scotland. They include Greater Manchester, Luton, Leicester and Aberdeen.

EasyJet operates flights from Belfast International to both Manchester and Luton, but say the service has not been affected.

A spokesperson added: "We continue to monitor the situation and are providing flexibility for customers who, if they no longer wish to travel, can transfer their flights without a change fee or receive a voucher for the value of their booking."
