EasyJet issues update on flights after Foreign Office warning

EasyJet has issued an update after numerous airlines revealed when they are recommencing flights.

Earlier this week, the Foreign Office advised against all non-essential travel 'indefinitely'.

This saw a number of travel companies reschedule their holiday programmes.

Jet2 said they would restart flights on June 17 and TUI cancelled holidays up to and including May 14 and Marella Cruise holidays up to and including May 31.

Ryanair also said they expect their flights will not restart until June.

However, easyJet told the ECHO they have not set a date as to when their flights will be restarting.

Currently, customers cannot book a flight for April.

A spokesperson told the ECHO: "At this stage there can be no certainty of the date for restarting commercial flights as this will depend on national travel restrictions and customer demand.

"We have an ongoing rolling cancellation programme in place and have taken April off sale so more customers cannot book onto flights during this month.

"Once a flight is cancelled we will inform passengers and provide them with their options."
