EasyJet plane seen circling above Liverpool Airport

An easyJet plane has been seen circling for several hours above Liverpool Airport.

The plane has been doing loops above the skies of Liverpool and over into Cheshire including Widnes and Runcorn since 8.30am.

Flight radar maps picked up the EZY9094 Airbus EasyJet plane circling over Liverpool John Lennon Airport today.

ECHO readers spotting the plane circling included Craig Belston who snapped the plane above his home.

He said: "It’s still going round, I live in Widnes. It keeps going over Runcorn way."

But EasyJet today stressed the eye-catching flight pattern was all planned and was set to continue until "mid afternoon".

A spokeswoman said: "EasyJet has been conducting routine crew training flights from Liverpool Airport today.

"The airline has a comprehensive training programme for its pilots and as part of this conducts flights of this kind every year."

Easyjet also confirmed the training was aimed at pilots rather than cabin crew.

A spokeswoman for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said they were aware a training exercise was taking place today.
