EasyJet launch winter flight sale

EasyJet have launched a winter flight sale, in spite of the coronavirus outbreak.

Yesterday, the Airport Operators Association warned UK airports may shut down "within weeks without government intervention", thousands of flights have been cancelled and airlines are fearing for the future amid the pandemic.

However, easyJet have today taken the step to advertise flights for sale in the period October 25 to February 28, 2021.

Flights across Europe can be purchased from as little as £29.99, if customers book before midnight on March 24.

A statement released on behalf of easyJet today said: "easyJet has brought its annual winter flight sale forward, giving customers the chance to book early and make huge savings on flights  between 25 October 2020 and 28 February 2021.

"For the first time all Autumn 2020/Winter 2021 flights on sale will be just £29.99 one way, including taxes and charges. To benefit customers need to book before midnight the 24 March 2020."

Meanwhile, in response to the coronavirus outbreak, the airline have scrapped flight change fees.

They continue: "The airline’s sale, which goes live today, will allow many customers who have had their recent travel plans disrupted even more choice of dates to move their flights to with no change fee including Christmas and February half term breaks.

"The announcement follows yesterday’s FCO announcement that Brits should avoid all but essential travel for the next 30 days.

"The discount flight sale is expected to be welcomed by travellers whose Easter and Summer holiday plans have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Over 147,000 flights are set to take place across easyJet’s network between 25 October 2020 and 28 February 2021, providing over 9 million seats for passengers to organise a half term family break, catch some winter sun or head off on ski and city breaks.

"Of these, more than 5 million seats are now on sale across 78,000 flights to and from the UK."
