easyJet is hiring cabin crew but the airline has very specific requirements

The job of a flight attendant sounds pretty glamorous.

After all, you get to enjoy perks like travelling around the world and discounted travel.

Of course on the other hand, you have to be prepared to work long hours, be friendly and patient (we've all seen those passengers who are a nuisance).

Still, if it sounds like your dream job then we have good news - easyJet is currently hiring for cabin crew in its bases across Bristol, Glasgow and London Stansted.

However if you want to throw your hat in the ring, you're going to need to meet some pretty specific criteria.

For example, the airline requires that you have a height of at least 5’2” (157.5 cm) to 6’3” (190cm) without shoes (we imagine for safety reasons and to reach those pesky overhead lockers).

Oh, and you'll need to stay in shape as you'll need "the continuing ability to be able to fit into an aircraft jump seat harness which measures 106cm across the lap and 157cm from shoulder to waist".

Again, we imagine this comes down to safety.

Other requirements include being able to swim 25m without any assistance, as well as having no visible tattoos or body piercings (you can have these but they need to be able to be covered discreetly).

Still, there are some pretty tempting perks to the job.

For a start, you'll get to enjoy unlimited staff travel with some tempting discounts, as well as standby travel (where you wait to fill up any empty seats) - and both are across the entire easyJet network.

Cabin crew also get easyJet Plus membership meaning you'll always get speedy boarding and be able to pre-book your seats.

Other tempting extras including a 10 per cent commission on onboard sales, as well as more discounts with other travel firms.

As for the application process? Get ready to be put through your paces. You'll need to fill out an online application before easyJet sends you an online test.

Following this, recruiters will review your application and if you're successful, you'll be invited for an Assessment Day at one of the airline's centres.

You can find out more about what the roles entail and the application process on the easyJet Careers Centre website .

Thinking of applying, but not sure if it's the right career path for you? The airline actually has an interactive Try Before You Fly quiz which includes their feedback to help you determine your options.
