An easyJet flight from Glasgow declared a mid-air emergency following a generator failure last night.
The aircraft, which was travelling to Luton, was forced to divert to Manchester after the technical failure was discovered.
The easyJet U2612 flight departed Glasgow Airport shortly after 5.30pm on Friday evening, but squawked and emergency at around 6pm, reports Glasgow Live.
The plane diverted to Manchester and landed at 6.45pm. The airling confirmed the plane was inspected by engineers and ruled to be safe before flying to its final destination at London Luton.
An easyJet spokesperson said: "easyJet can confirm that the flight EZY612 from Glasgow - London Luton on May 19 diverted to Manchester due to a technical issue with the aircraft. After the aircraft was declared serviceable by our engineers the flight continue onto its final destination.
"The safety of our customers and crew is easyJet's highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers’ guidelines. We would like to apologise to customers for the delay and inconvenience caused."
