EasyJet Faro to Bristol flight cancellation left traveller 'with nowhere to sleep'

A traveller has claimed she was left with nowhere to sleep after EasyJet cancelled her flight back to Bristol from Portugal.

EasyJet has said its doing everything it can to minimise disruption and that it is very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation, which was necessary because of a technical issue. The airline said the safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority.

A woman took to social media to claim children and babies were left without food, water or milk, and said she felt the airline staff had "abandoned" them in the airport.

She tweeted later: "Only just got to our accommodation after waiting in Faro airport for over 10 hours after flight to Bristol cancelled!! Absolutely awful that a 3 year old child was refused water and somewhere to sleep!!!"

A spokesperson for EasyJet said: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY6010 from Faro to Bristol Airport yesterday evening was cancelled as a result of a technical issue onboard the aircraft due to operate the flight.

“We are doing all possible to minimise the disruption, helping customers transfer to alternative flights for free, with availability on easyJet flights from Faro today, and provided overnight hotel accommodation and meals for those who required them. Any customers who sourced their own hotel accommodation will be reimbursed for this and any other reasonable expenses and anyone who no longer wishes to travel is able to receive a voucher or a full refund.

“We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority.”
