EasyJet confirm no emergency declared on Edinburgh to London flight

An Easyjet flight between Edinburgh and London did not report a mid-air emergency service.

The airline company confirmed that a previously reported alert was false.

We earlier told how an online plane monitor had announced that the service between the capital cities had Squawked over Biggar.

This means that the pilot had declared an emergency.

However, Easyjet moved to reassure customers that no such alert was made and that the flight had operated without an issues.

The plane took off from Edinburgh Airport at about 6.09am and landed at London Gatwick at about 7.17am.

The aircraft, numbered G-UZHH, had no issues reported on-board.

A Easyjet spokesperson said: "There was no mid-air emergency.

"The Captain has confirmed that the flight operated normally without any issues at all.

"There was no squawk alert from our aircraft."
