- European Union proposals to allow all airline passengers two pieces of cabin baggage have been criticised by easyJet's CEO.
- Kenton Jarvis, easyJet CEO, described the plan as “bizarre” as well as "unworkable and mad" due to insufficient space on aircraft.
- The European Parliament voted in favour of the plan, arguing it would improve transparency and consumer protection.
- easyJet previously experienced significant disruption when allowing two free bags, which reduced by 95 per cent after introducing charges for larger cabin bags.
- Mr Jarvis stated that forcing a second bag would remove customer choice, increase prices, and is impractical given current aircraft capacity.
