Budget hotel chain easyHotel has announced it will be reopening its UK, France and Spain hotels as lockdown restrictions ease.
The brand’s UK hotels, including those in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Newcastle, will begin opening from July.
Its French flagship in Nice will reopen on 24 June, followed by its Spanish flagship in Barcelona on 1 July.
All its hotels have undergone a ‘deep clean’ and any potential touchpoints, such as door handles and lift buttons, are being regularly disinfected – and guests are being encouraged to use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrance.
Checking in at easyHotel will be done digitally, when collecting disinfected keycard from receptions, guests will have minimum contact with receptionists, who will sit behind clear screens.
Social distancing in reception areas means that no more than three people will be present at the same time.

“Since closing our entire estate back in March, we have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for reopening our hotels in a way that puts health and safety first in these unusual times.
“I am confident that our guests will see we have taken all possible precautions and that they will sleep soundly in our great value hotels.”
The government has announced that the earliest date on which hotels can reopen would be July 4 ‘at the very earliest’, and has instructed accommodation businesses to remain closed while other non-essential shops and services reopen on June 15.
